ECC-Boston had a very successful open house on 10/26/05. The purpose of the event was to introduce Eritrea and the Community Center to governmental and nongovernmental organizations in the Boston area in general and the ECC neighborhood in particular.
Solomon Habtemichael, Chairman of ECC-Boston, officially opened the event by welcoming and thanking the guests. He also gave a brief introduction of the center and its activities. Michael Weldehawariat, Treasurer of ECC-Boston, outlined the objectives of the center and recognized the assistance the community received from several friends of Eritrea and of ECC-Boston. Alazar Mengistab, representing the Resource Center Team, detailed the objectives, current activities and challenges of the Resource Center. The keynote speaker at the event, Dr. Mel King, gave an uplifting and very interesting speech.
Guests enjoyed traditional Eritrean dinner followed by excellent performance by Eritrean youth.
